Damian Croft, Founding Director of Esplora Travel, lived and worked in Sicily for almost twenty years. He has a passion for mediterranean history and culture, as well as deep personal interests in music, literature and the arts, natural history and wildlife. Amongst his past jobs he has been a teacher, a tour guide, a translator, a cook, a software developer and a travel writer. He has an MA in Social Anthropology from SOAS, London and holds the highest Italian language (CELI) qualification from the University of Perugia. He also lived and worked in Ankara, Turkey for over three years and is a fluent Turkish speaker.
He is a licensed local guide with the Sicilian Regional government.
He is also a published writer, having published a collection of short stories and several books of translations from Turkish.
